Aside from the narrative being rather straight-forward, I'm not sure why audiences didn't respond more to the vibrancy of 'The Good Dinosaur', another solid PIXAR film. It teaches youngsters important life lessons such as:
Fear is what keeps you alive.
If you love something, set it free.
Friends don't let friends do plums.
