Review of The Gold Rush (1925) by Antti R — 13 Nov 2008
What's really brilliant is that Chaplin took some pretty serious subject matter and makes one of the most memorable comedies ever(he was always interested in how comedy can be made from tragic situations) Most his bits of physical comedy are still widely imitated today.
It was pretty incredible how well the little tramp could carry a film so well. Chaplin was once asked "why don't you have interesting camera angles in your pictures" he responded "I don't need them because I'M interesting".
