Review of The Gold Rush (1925) by Ninon M — 24 Oct 2017
'The Gold Rush' is Chaplin's immortal tale of poverty and hope; it represents the Tramp at his epitome -his most entertaining, his most true, but not yet his most smart and cynical. It's moving, but also great physical comedy, 'The Gold Rush' has sensational moments of sheer slapstick laughs, like Charlie eating his shoes and seen as a chicken by his hungry friend.
Therefore, while not my personal favorite Chaplin work, 'The Gold Rush' is this heartrending comedy made by its virtues easy enjoyable, regardless its age.
