Review of The Gold Rush (1925) by Tom R — 05 Mar 2011
(original, non-narrated version) Now here's a great movie to watch on a cold, snowy day. Charlie Chaplin's The Gold Rush is a fun part slapstick, part romantic, part absurdest comedy. It features plenty of sight gags and payoffs that work flawlessly with each other.
My favorite part is when a starving character hallucinates The Tramp as a chicken and what's really surprising is how real the chicken looks and acts... it's one of many funny setups in The Gold Rush.
