Review of The Gold Rush (1925) by Brad S — 22 Oct 2016
- Watched yet again with my niece. Such a brilliant film and very easy to re-watch. At under 90mins, it goes by very quickly.
- So easy to re-watch this film. Was a joy watching with my 5yr old niece and seeing her face light-up for the dancing dinner roll scene. She was even engaged during the not comedic bits of Chaplin trying to get the girl, and was on edge of her seat for the scene where house is on edge of cliff. A true masterpiece that literally can be enjoyed by anyone, and it's 90yrs old!
- Just watched the 1942 version again which is shorter and has narration by Chaplin, as well as a new score. Such a wonderful film, this should be mandatory viewing for all. Highly recommended!
- Such a classic film that anyone can enjoy and features some great Chaplin bits such as him eating his shoe and doing the dancing rolls.
Watched the 1942 re-release version which is shorter, but I think the it plays at a faster speed, not sure if there's any other difference.
Check it out!
