Review of The Gold Rush (1925) by Blackity B — 26 Sep 2005
The Gold Rush, starring one of the first great entertainers, the immortal Charlie Chaplin is indeed a great movie. The comedy is quite ancient, but to me and this generation it's almost like seeing something new.
The laughs are simple, but still quite effective and very funny. The movie also has a nice little romance story that I liked. Chaplin though is the real highlight of the movie - just watching him was a pleasure, he had a charm that few actors posess.
A great actor. The movie's only downside was the ending, but still it is one of the best comedies ever made. A Golden Classic.
