Review of The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980) by Faisal A — 24 Feb 2009
A whimsical mix of African folk tale and slapstick comedy that works because of its odd confluence of styles, which gradually merge. There's Uys' penchant for very broad Jerry Lewis-like slapstick, and your enjoyment of that depends entirely on your penchant for said slapstick.
You'd have to be crazy not to be charmed by this movie - grab a coke and a smile.
