Just as good as the first movie, which is absolutely saying something considering the first is high on the running of most peoples 'best movie ever' lists...it's got to be the best sequel ever made, with Camerons 'Aliens' 'T2' and maybe one of William Powells 'Thin Man' pictures in a secondary category.
..this picture does feature more drama, darkness, and stylized violence..But the period set designs and location selected by the crew are one of a kind...if you're serious about movies, and not everyone agrees, then you own this one.
