Review of The Godfather Part II (1974) by Niloo R — 03 Jun 2014
I enjoyed this one slightly more than the last one - robert deniro as young vito corleone was delightful. I was also more invested in al pacino's storyline this time around, and felt like he had more room to develop as a character.
the films are entertaining, beautifully shot and thematically strong, but way way way too long. coppola is gifted, but too indulgent with his filmmaking - the sheer length bogs viewers down. the films would have been stronger if they were shorter.
