Review of The Godfather Part II (1974) by Abraham M — 17 Aug 2016
Against all odds, The Godfather Part 2 manages to be just as good as the original. It is a perfect continuation of the first movie, developing Michael and Vito further despite his death in the first film. This time Vito's story is shown in flashbacks played by Robert De Niro who was perfectly cast for the role.
Vito's story is perhaps even more interesting than Michael's this time, as we watch him evolve from a child seeking refuge from the mafia in Sicily only to then become a crimelord himself in the future. Everything that was great about the first Godfather movie is done once again here, great performances, an interesting plot and fantastic flawless direction, once again a mustwatch classic.
