Review of The Glass Castle (2017) by Andrea M — 03 Sep 2017
Just saw it yesterday, as expected....it romanticized their life, especially the father. The acting was excellent, but the main screen play was lacking. Why not stay closer to the book? To me, one of the most interesting parts was when the children were in school, they just totally skipped over that part.
The music didn't make sense, should have been darker. The uplifting part is the fact that the author rose above her horrible childhood. That was not clear in the film. I'd give it 1 star because I found the adaptation so weak, but the actors were great, so 3 stars.
My recommendation - skip the film, read the book.
