Review of The Glass Castle (2017) by Jack O — 11 Aug 2017
If you haven't read the book you will probably like it better than Those of us who read the box. As usual Hollywood decided that the book wasn't good enough the way it was and they had to change it.
I have still not forgiven Hollywood for rewriting completely "my sisters keeper". But in "The Glass Castle", they felt compelled to make the father endearing in some ways and to completely overlook some of the more abusive, colorful, painful seems of the book and her life.
I can't forgive them for trying to fix what wasn't broke. If you want to really incredible experience, read the book. Then if you want, see the movie and perhaps enjoy it for what it was? recognizing that it did not stay true to the trauma that was her life.
