Review of The Glass Castle (2017) by Spencer P — 04 Oct 2018
With an immensely difficult true story to tell with very heavy themes, it truly is hard to wrap it all up in an inspirational bow like this film tries to. Even though the cast is perfect, each scene is detailed and well-filmed, and it has its solid moments, I couldn't help but continually feel anxious and disturbed, even through its sugar-coated ending.
In fact, if I may say, as a tip, to tell a convincing message about unconditional love, don't bring up sudden flashbacks of little moments where the father was suddenly nice.
