This a bad adaptation of the book, though the picture worth a thousand word but with the wrong context it :/ they lost all the important details trying to make it a Hollywood movie with such big cast, Jeff Bridges as the Giver, he was good but not as good and mysterious as the one from the book, Meryl Streep as Chief Elder, well he sole purpose in the movie was the finale dialogue, but again if she had no memories how can she lecture anyone about it, while in the story the receiver of memory is the only one able to ask those question and justify what being done in the community...

Though the world is huge and wonderful place, it is also cruel and horrible ...and that is life...

To the movie, the sole reason for Fiona storyline is to make it make it a movie, Asher :( :( any work this guy well do from here on... it wont redeem him being Gotham's Joker >:(.

The release scene is very very bad, you have to be epic/masterpiece to be able to kill babies on the screen other than that it is horrible :p.

Tylor Swift cameo as Rose Marry was very good...

They missed the rule about not to ask for release; that would have made much more sense and conflict, if this thing happened before...

This adaptation failed like others before, to become something worthy of the name of its original work, so hope in another 15/20 years it would be made again into something more...

I'll give it a 6/10.
