Not horrible... Just... Not as good as the book. And no, I'm not one of those "The book is always better" people. Having read the book, I understood more of what was going on, which made the film better for me, so I can understand why so many people thought that this was just pedantic and the law enforcement changes they made towards the end really didn't help.
They lost a great opportunity to vent against conformity and the notion that pseudo communism is bad and turned it into a boring, childish work that the author should be ashamed of.
