Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) by Patrick M — 07 Dec 2012
..excellent...I found myself riveted to this ~ Craig was exceptional, Mara was even better... and the stunning, snow covered Scandinavian backdrop was to die for. All in all, the threads are drawn together to provide a cracking, dramatic thriller.
As disgraced journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Craig) escapes from the city to seek solace in the Swedish outback in order to assist the elderly Henrik Vanger to write his memoirs....officially. His real task is darker ~ to attempt to unravel family mystery that has laid dormant for decades ~ the apparent murder of his great niece Harriet.
The plot moves fast, and Blomkvist is drawn further and further into the tangled web. The arrival of Lisbeth Salander (Mara), a seriously unbalanced person, but brilliant researcher and computer hacker, provides an added element of intrigue, and Larsson's blockbuster is bursting at the seams with mystery and drama.
I thought Mara stole the show, but Craig wasn't far behind, and the plot moves towards a fearful climax. A film I will certainly watch many times....
