One of David Fincher's best films, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a modern masterpiece. I haven't read the book, but I have seen the original 2009 film, and Fincher's version is a noticeable improvement on it.
Daniel Craig givers a fantastic performance, and Rooney Mara is absolutely perfect as Lisbeth Salander. It's brutal and a couple scenes are hard to watch, but that just makes the film that much better.
