Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) by Ethan M — 05 Apr 2014
An English version of a foreign film that is even better than the original (because I don't have to read subtitles the whole time). Only one word can be used to describe this film, "Respect".
Respect for the characters, respect for the film, and most importantly respect for the source material. The film follows the material so well that it can even be more disturbing than the novel it is based off of.
A definite career high point for everyone involved, from Craig, to Mara, to even Fincher himself. I hope that the lawsuit involved with Stieg Larsson's amazing trilogy subsides so that more can be done with it in the world of film.
