Review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) by Kristin S — 13 Jul 2012
I know that there is an American remake starring Daniel Craig, but as Scandinavian cinema is more my cup of tea, there was no question which version I would watch.
Yes, they made some slight changes to the plot in comparison to the book, like that it is Lisbeth and not Mikaels daughter who finds out that the numbers are bible references. That was very well done and did in my eyes not alter the cleverness of the book the slightest. On the contrary, those changes are necessary to get the lengthy book down to a 2-hours-version.
Noomi Rapace gives a fantastic portrayal of this unique character of Lisbeth. Every look of her, even when she is not saying a word, just fits perfectly. There is this underlying aggression in her posture which is every single one of her scenes. She is great.
Am looking forward to see the other two movies as well.
