Review of The Girl with All the Gifts (2016) by Sophie S — 21 Jan 2018
I'm baffled by how a man took his own fantastic novel and completely ruined it in his screenplay. Devoid of true character development, with an added overplayed trope of "You're bit I'll have to shoot you" scene that didn't need to be there, plotholes as far as the eye can see, and a clear desire to give Glenn Close more lines and screen time.
Just finished reading the book and from the bottom of my heart wish I'd never seen the movie.
1 star only because the cinematography was lovely and Glenn and Gemma's acting was great despite the lackluster script they were working with.
Don't bother.
