Review of Revenge in the House of Usher (1983) by Ennis Brokeback L — 06 Dec 2008
I'm not sure why this has the cover to The Sadistic Baron von Klaus because this is a completely different film. Howard Vernon returns in the role of Dr. Orloff (or Dr. Usher as he is known in this film).
As the description says, Franco blends together Poe's "Fall of the House of Usher" with Bram Stoker's Dracula and his own The Awful Dr. Orloff. In fact, part sof the black and white flashback sequences are merely just footage from the original Orloff film.
Morpho also returns as well, but this film lacks the creepiness of The Awful Dr. Orloff or even Dr. Orloff's Monster. What is left is a decently entertaining B grade film that returns the viewer to Orloff universe.
An interesting film but certainly not a great one.
