Review of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (1997) by Kyo 9 — 24 Jan 2011
One of the altogether few offerings from Japan in recent years that doesn't reek of badly written faux-lesbian robot psychobabble. It's an easy to follow story that seems perfectly fitted to a sci-fi Young Adult novel, not that that's a bad thing when that is your target audience.
Cute, quirky, and relatively polished, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time follows a graduating student who plays with time travel after a lucky encounter in an empty classroom with a "magical" artifact. She soon realizes that the power isn't something to be taken for granted or wasted.
