Review of The Girl Can't Help It (1956) by Peter A — 25 Jul 2011
Thought this was quite poor which is a shame as Jayne Mansfield is much better than this. She plays a bimbo girlfriend of a gangstar who wants her to be a star. Trouble is she can't sing so relys on her looks to get by.
That's the plot in a nutshell and although its supposed to be a comedy the humour ghas dated quite badly and its a little offensive today. It has an amazing soundtrack of some of the greatest 50s stars and really that's all that can be said for it.
