Review of The Gift (2015) by Gabe B — 07 Nov 2015
Intriguing, compelling extension of the "dangerous stranger" genre film, which serves as a wonderful opportunity for Jason Bateman to demonstrate what a great actor he is. The film allows tension to build by virtue of its performances and narrative pacing, and is easily one one of the best psychological thrillers to emerge in recent years.
Props to Joel Edgerton for a well executed screenplay, solid direction and an excellent performance.
