Review of The Gift (2000) by Jacob T — 24 May 2008
Sam Raimi's probably always going to be known for the Evil Dead films and Spiderman, but in my mind his best work was done in between the two trilogies, when he directed A Simple Plan and this creepy southern horror film.
The direction is pitch perfect (of course) and the actors you'd expect to turn in killer performances go a step beyond. Heck even Keanu Reeves is believable for once.
