Review of The Ghost and the Darkness (1996) by Shira Q — 24 Jun 2008
Except for the Americanization of the Anglo-Indian Charles Ryall to Charles Remington and the miscasting of Michael Douglas, this is an excellent movie based on the true story of the two famous man eating lions of Tsavo.
The lions were well done (even though the real ones were mane-less and these ones have manes) and the story is well paced. Return Charles to his roots and pick someone more suited for the role, and we'll have a 5 star movie for sure.
Luckily - even with those two faults it still is entertaining and very re-watchable (it's better each time).
