Review of The Gauntlet (1977) by Jon B — 27 Oct 2008
A completely preposterous, but cheesily enjoyable 70s thriller from Clint Eastwood, about a burnt out cop escorting a hooker from Vegas to Phoenix to testify in a trial who finds himself locking horns with dirty cops and the Mob.
Eastwood is his usual grizzled self, but Sondra Locke can't act her way out of a paper bag, and some of the bullet-riddled action scenes are a little over the top, especially the finale on the bus.
