Review of The Gate (1987) by Samuel B — 05 Mar 2012
Originally got to see this when it first aired on cable, forgot how it ended. After watching it in its entirety I know why that is. The ending was incredibly bad. The whole film feels like it is building up to something big and climactic and just never delivers it.
The film does have a wonderful 80's feel which makes it tolerable but the story is so structurely bad. The acting is poor and the music is annoying. Despite some major flaws it may appeal to sci-fi horror buffs and future film makers on what pitfalls to avoid in creating a horror movie.
