Review of The Game Plan (2007) by Andy B — 20 Jun 2009
Really cute movie about a superstar quarterback who is gearing up for the big game when he meets the daughter he never knew he had. Great "Father's Day" theme movie as we see Joe Kingman evolve from the he-man athlete who has an entourage of starlets and models a mile long to a man learning what it takes to be a father to 8 year old Peyton. Watching this little girl integrate herself into Joe's life was highly entertaining as she wins over not only Joe's bulldog but also his teammates.
This movie reminds me how talented The Rock is and what a diverse character he is as he demonstrates the range of characters he is capable of portraying. In this movie, his talent in the ballet arena is showcased and was fun to watch. The casting of Madison Pettis as Joe's daughter, Peyton was perfect. She's pint-sized but has the spirit the size of the athletes she wraps around her little finger.
