Review of The Game (1997) by Ash J — 15 Sep 2010
6.9/10 --.
A decent thriller with a twilight zone-esk concept. Michael Douglas portrays the perfect egotistical businessman, while Sean Penn nearly steals the show despite barely being in it. The movie is fairly disconnected emotionally and when it comes time for the final reveal, the explanation is far too ridiculous to take seriously. However, what's most frustrating about "The Game" is its reluctance to end on the dark note it's been edging towards the entire time.
