Review of The Game (1997) by Bradley W — 01 Dec 2011
This is a nice, ingenious little thriller now available on netflix streaming. Directed by David Fincher (Fight Club, The Social Network) the film is at its strongest when trying to establish menace through suspense and foreboding tone.
Having seen Fight Club before this film, I can tell that The Game was Fincher's warm-up for fight club, as most of this film is set during the night, with pitch black shadows bellowing ominous noises from the shadows as our 'hero' tries to cope with paranoia.
Not a perfect movie, but a great time killer if you are in the mood for a suspenseful thriller.
