Review of The Gallows (2015) by Richard S — 22 Aug 2018
The Gallows is a pretty standard found footage horror. There are some decent jump scares but these don't make up for the silly story-line and the ridiculous ending unfortunately. The story follows the reproduction of a play some 20 years after the last production ended in tragedy with the accidental death of one of the actors. Obviously you stage the play again to pay tribute to this tragedy. Any how, you have this meat head who thinks his sports star best mate has lost his way by signing up for the play so meat head and friends break into school after dark to wreck the set. The doors lock and then there is running, screaming and a guy who looks like the Batman villain Scarecrow. We then reach the ridiculous ending which I won't spoil for everyone who will immediately get a hold of a copy of the film after reading this review.
A few jumps but not even worth the commitment of the short running time of 80 minutes.
