Review of The Fury (1978) by Chris H — 11 May 2008
De Palma hits all the right notes in one of his early B-movies. Whilst the gravitas of Kirk Douglas certainly helps its credibility, there are signs of maturity in how De Palma handles his direction. Whilst it's still typical of De Palma's B-movie phase, it's certainly a step up towards what was to come with Scarface, The Untouchables and - crucially for The Fury - Mission Impossible.
