Review of The Full Monty (1997) by Natalie D — 08 Jul 2009
Absolutely spot on. So funny, a real laugh out loud movie!
I thought Robert Carlyle's character in particular was brilliant, seeming so rough and with a few faults, but loveable nonetheless. And he really makes me laugh.
The whole cast were very good, particularly Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy, Steve Huison and William Snape. They all did a fantastic job.
I loved the scenes where they are practising the dance in the factory, where they are auditioning men for the dancing (Bruce Jones is particularly hilarious with his dreadful attempt at dancing), and where the police catch them practising in the factory, and Gaz says they were nicking pipes in the buff! So many memorable moments really, too many to mention in a short review.
I loved the feelgood factor of this film, and that combined with the comedy and the quality of the acting make this a real winner.
