Review of The Full Monty (1997) by Dan C — 03 Jul 2009
A story about six unemployed workers who do the most ridiculous thing possible to try and make money in the form of stripping. The concept alone is hilarious and the execution raises it even higher. I thought Robert Carlyle was particularly good because he was able to perfectly balance sincerity with pure ridiculousness.
Also, glad to see that this beat out Titanic for best picture at the British Academy Film Awards because it is a far better picture and deserves the highest praises. Good thing at least one country got it right.
