Review of The Full Monty (1997) by Adam S — 05 Jan 2014
"The Full Monty" is a very funny and heartfelt British working class comedy focussing around a team of not-overly-attractive men deciding to create a strip show to earn some money after losing their jobs at the steel mill.
It could have been too silly, cliched, or aimed for a niche audience (a la "Magic Mike"), but instead, director Peter Cattaneo has created a film that touches on many issues, can appeal to wide audience, and utilises the acting talents of the likes of Robert Carlyle, Mark Addy and Tom Wilkinson.
Combining this with a killer soundtrack of 70's and 80's dance music, "The Full Monty" is definitely a worthwhile comedy.
