Review of The Fugitive (1993) by Ryan F — 07 Aug 2012
As essentially a modern American version of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, this film has a very dynamic rivaling chemistry between Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford) as the fugitive and Marshal Samuel Gerrard (Tommy Lee Jones) as his pursuer.
Gerard's famous response of "I don't care" to Kimble's plight that is later changed by the growing sympathy of Gerrard for Kimble's situation; along with Gerard's mixed behaviour as being nearly obsessive compulsive in his attention to details in combination with his very close demeanor to his colleagues makes the character very three-dimensional and interesting.
I admire the filmmaker for his excellent background footage of Chicago and the excellent music used.
