Review of The Fugitive (1993) by Stephen Z — 28 Jul 2015
It's been a few years since Harrison Ford's last big action flick. In that time, Ford seems to have aged so much. But that sure as heck doesn't mean that Ford's action days are over! Perhaps one of his best actions films to date, "The Fugitive" is an excellent action-thriller. It is exciting and suspenseful. It is unpredictable and groundbreaking. And it is an extremely well-written film.
Also great are the main characters in "The Fugitive". Harrison Ford, of course, gives an outstanding performance as the fugitive Dr. Richard Kimble. His character is such a likable guy, and Ford's performance really sells it. And as great as Ford is, I equally enjoyed the performance of Tommy Lee Jones as Deputy Samuel Gerard. I especially love Jones's charisma and charm. It provides nice comedic relief to counterbalance Ford's tragic character.
It's movies like this that remind me why I love Harrison Ford. Ford proves that he is still relevant as an action star. "The Fugitive" is one of the best action films I've seen in a while and another success in Ford's career. It's a definite must-see!
