Review of The Frozen Ground (2013) by Verna B — 01 Oct 2013
9 out of 10 on IMDB; 4.75 stars here. For all the cretins...oops, I meant "critics" who bashed this movie on IMDB, I say: "Acquire some education." The actor who portrayed the serial killer was IMPECCABLE.
His lack of emotional affect, his spartan, hunched-over, eerily silent demeanor coupled with his amazing control (causing) of facial tics and his ability to affect a dark, disturbing stare were all textbook perfection and I am proud for him & his performance.
He even had the presence of mind to look off to the right when speaking, commonly denoting lies and fabrication. Nicolas cage, as always, plays the wounded cop to perfection. Anyone who has studied or followed serial cases like Ted Bundy will see this movie as the gem it is.
Kudos to the real-life "Cindy" that had the brass to tell her story and to the amazing young actress, Vanessa Hudgens, who gave a stunning portrayal. I was NOT expecting this quality or depth in a current movie not made by Ron Howard, but I was WRONG.
This movie was worth seeing & then, I will be watching again. Dean Norris, or "Hank" as he is known to lovers of BB gave his usual solid & distinctive performance... I cannot say enough about this movie.
It did not miss a single beat. And I dare any critic with any knowledge of serial killers or profiling to refute this statement. It becomes like a fashion statement to trash Nick Cage, as he is an icon.
Get over it critics: you are not only ignorant but you're also wrong! Thank you Mike Walker for a gripping cinematic experience. I will be watching this haunting masterpiece again.
