Review of The Frozen Ground (2013) by Kilo D — 07 Mar 2014
If one can look past the point-and-shoot style and the billing of Mr. Cage they will see something not altogether great but slightly surprising. John Cusack is our villain here and he's unsettling--just the subtle looks or shifts in composure are creepy.
And so, Nicolas Cage, he is not playing to . . . Nic Cage (?) stereotypes here, instead his performance is as strong and tireless as his character. "The Frozen Ground" is based on true events and it concerns itself with its characters rather than exploiting serial killer tropes such as abduction, torture, and so on and so forth.
