Review of The Front Line (2009) by Noel K — 29 Oct 2009
A noble attempt to tell the story of a Congolese refugee, Joe Yumba, (wonderfully acted by Eroq Ebouaney) living in Dublin who must retrieve his son, being held hostage, from a gang of violent Irish thugs.
Along the way we learn the truth about Joe Yumba and the horrible circumstances that brought him and his so called family to Dublin. The elements of a great story are there but the pacing falls flat without any build up.
It is probably the first movie to use Viagra as a torture tool!
