Review of The Frisco Kid (1979) by Brian B — 16 Aug 2009
The pacing of the film suffers from the episodic nature of the story but thanks to a strong central performance from Wilder is still a pleasant way to spend two hours. The film's central theme of religious and racial tolerance does not seem forced or preachy.
For his part, Ford is exactly right as the cocky but friendless small-time outlaw. Around this time the actor excelled playing over-confident rogues; good bad-guys with a soft spot.
