Review of The Frisco Kid (1979) by Allan C — 14 Aug 2010
An odd entry in Robert Aldrich body work. He's best known for his tough action films like "The Dirty Dozen" and "Kiss Me Deadly", and he made only three comedies including this one, the other two being a Frank and Dino comedy western and Burt's original version of "The Longest Yard".
This is a very flawed film, especially in tone, but I'm a big fan of Aldrich, Gene Wilder, Harrison Ford, and character actor William Smith, who plays the lead villain and also gets to do a little slapstick, so I probably rated the film higher than it deserves.
