Not as good as I remembered. Maybe I'm over thinking things, but it seemed like I could spot a plot hole every 2 minutes. So I basically just turned my brain off. Still, have to say without this film, Jackson would not have gone on to do Lord of the Rings, so it deserves credit for that if nothing else.
