Review of The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981) by Alec B — 14 May 2010
I only wanted to see it because it was shot at Lyme, which is a place I've always loved. The film is boring. I didn't like the way it shifted between real life and "fiction" ... The first couple of shifts left me a little confused [which wouldn't have happened if I had read the synopsis, but I didn't want it spoiled ... besides, a movie should be understandable to the audience without need for reviews beforehand.].
The emotion was all wrong, and very awkward to watch ... it kinda failed.
