Review of The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981) by Silvia O — 11 Oct 2009
This was quite an interesting movie. And yet, despite the fact that the lead actors are very good, (especially Jeremy Irons, who can make even '80s fashion look sexy) I didn't really like it.
The whole movie just gives you a really frustrating feeling that there is something very interesting and passionate beneath the appearances that the characters put up, but never goes into it. And by the end, which really wasn't much of an ending, neither in the actors' storyline, or the Victorian one, you really don't know what to think.
