Review of The French Connection (1971) by Samantha B — 20 Nov 2008
This hasn't aged very well, in my opinion. I appreciate that this movie was pioneering in its time, but these days it feels more NYPD Blue than big screen. Scheider is distinctly average, even wooden, as Popeye's partner.
Hackman is great, and it was worth sticking it out for the car/train chase scene at the end.
