Review of The French Connection (1971) by Ian S — 06 Feb 2009
I love Gene Hackman now. Popeye Doyle is one badass fella, and Roy Scheider compliments him perfectly. Interesting story, great acting, great action. That's all you really need. My one complaint is the ending.
It ends so ubrubtly. I mean, how hard is it to say that the guy got away? It's made so unfulfilling by the abrubt, impersonal "This is what happened next" thing.
