If someone would ask me what film noir is, i'll gladly say french connection...
The movie picks up a pace right from the beginning and never leaves it till the end.... there are no phony dialogues exchanged, no drama created between the cops and the criminals... there is no remorse..... and there are gene hackmann and roy schieder...
Popoye doyle is like the characters portrayed in the westerns of yesteryears...
Criminal movies have two poles - one being gruesome dramas like godfather and others showing no nonsense like this one...
