Review of The French Connection (1971) by Matthew S — 19 Jul 2015
Categorically a tour-de-force for all involved, "The French Connection" served to define Gene Hackman's screen persona throughout the 70's (even if he demonstrated masterful range in his completely introverted turn in "The Conversation") and demonstrated that director William Friedkin was a force to be reckoned with.
There is no flaw to be found. Masterfully paced, scripted, filmed, cast and performed.
